Vetspress is an independent veterinary office in NDG that provides primary and specialist care for companion animals and their families. We understand the importance of recognizing the specific circumstances of each client and carefully listen to their perspective and concerns.

Vetspress understands that our pets are members of our family who depend on people to make health decisions for them. DR. LISSA
ALTSCHULER
Dr. Lissa Altschuler graduated in 2008 from the faculty of veterinary medicine at the University of Montreal. She has a special approach to practicing veterinary medicine. Dr. Lissa takes the time to discuss a pet’s health condition and the various treatment options available. Education and choice are essential elements in her repertoire. This approach has consistently led to a higher overall quality of care, pet health and happiness.
Dr. Lissa adds a personal and comforting touch to treating the treasured pets of your family. She is dedicated to educating and enhancing the relationship between people and their pets.
OUR SERVICES
WELLNESS EXAMS
We use a wellness exam to check up on your cat or dog’s physical health, update any vaccines or medication, discuss diet and make sure your pet is a healthy weight. We also explore any behavioural issues, allergies or general questions that you might have.
We also offer services such as nail trims, blood tests and x-rays.

Once your dog or cat turns 7, we recommend that they undergo a thorough senior wellness exam and diagnostic work-up. Our exams include how to take care of your pet’s joints and help with arthritic pain, dietary care and nutrition and dental care. We look for lumps and bumps, vision and hearing loss and changes in weight and drinking habits.
END OF LIFE CARE
The end of life stage is very difficult for owners and their beloved animal companions.
We do everything possible to improve their physical and emotional well-being, and to help you cope with the difficulties of caring for a terminally ill pet. We are there to support and guide you through the heartbreaking decision of saying goodbye.

We can insert an internationally recognized microchip to both dogs and cats at any age. We can also fill out appropriate travel documents for travel to any international destination.

When necessary or desired we can refer your animal to an appropriate board certified specialist (surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, etc).

All dogs and cats should be vaccinated in order to prevent several deadly infectious diseases. But depending on your pet’s age and lifestyle, we can customize the immunizations to protect and maintain health without stressing their immune system with unnecessary vaccinations.
